Dat veronderstelt een duidelijk en volledig zicht op de infrastructuur en al haar essenti\u00eble onderdelen. Met de bouw van een kwalitatief en betrouwbaar topologisch netwerk zet Infrabel een nieuwe stap in die richting. De GIS-experts van Nordend stonden ook nu weer garant voor een optimale technologische ondersteuning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aan plannen van de bestaande spoorinfrastructuur in Belgi\u00eb heeft Infrabel geen gebrek. De Belgische spoorbeheerder beschikt over minstens tweehonderd tekeningen die samen een schematische voorstelling bieden van ons volledige spoorwegennet. Alleen zijn al die tekeningen niet altijd correct aan elkaar gelinkt. Zo zijn bij eerdere pogingen om oude schematische tekeningen manueel met elkaar te verbinden, al wel eens fouten gebeurd. Het fundamentele probleem van die oude schematische tekeningen is echter dat ze geen laag bevatten met het topologische netwerk. Daardoor vallen er op de plannen bijvoorbeeld geen knooppunten of splitsingen te bekennen. Tunnels en bruggen blijken dan weer vaak over elkaar te lopen, wat tot foute interpretaties leidt.<\/p>\n<p>Daarom besloot Infrabel om een extra laag met topologische netwerkdata te cre\u00ebren bovenop de bestaande schematische plannen van zijn spoorinfrastructuur. Volgens Kurt Decock, Senior Project Lead GIS &amp; Innovations bij Infrabel, gaat het daarbij in wezen om een oefening in dataverrijking. \u201cDe data die momenteel al beschikbaar zijn in onze tekeningen \u2013 de sporen en wissels die de vorm van lijntjes en punten aannemen \u2013 wilden we vertalen naar een topologisch netwerk. Die data halen wij sinds vele jaren al op, dagelijks zelfs. Maar eigenlijk zijn dat weinig meer dan losse data. Ze zijn weliswaar zichtbaar op een tekening in de vorm van een lijn, bijvoorbeeld. Daarom moest het bedrijf een extra netwerk bouwen bovenop de bestaande tekeningen. Het probleem was: die tekeningen bestaan uit lijnen die niet altijd correct op mekaar aansluiten, die soms ook onderbroken zijn, die niet noodzakelijk stoppen aan een knooppunt waar ze zouden moeten stoppen, en zo meer.<\/p>\n<p>Om die wirwar van lijnen en punten op orde te zetten, besloot Infrabel opnieuw een beroep te doen op de diensten van Nordend, de lokale IT-partner waarmee het bedrijf eerder al succesvol had samengewerkt. Nordend kwam daarbij opnieuw als beste kandidaat uit de openbare aanbesteding.<\/p>\n<p>Nordend, gespecialiseerd in het bouwen van effici\u00ebnte processen met ruimtelijke (geografische) data, zorgde voor de automatische schoonmaak en correctie van de data op de vele schematische plannen van Infrabel. Eenmaal Nordend dat luik van het project tot een goed einde had gebracht, integreerde het diezelfde plannen in \u00e9\u00e9n topologisch netwerk dat gelinkt is aan ruimtelijke co\u00f6rdinaten. Op basis van dat platform voor data-integratie en -transformatie bouwde Nordend een applicatie die automatisch fouten uit de bestaande plannen van Infrabel filtert en onderbrekingen tussen de tekeningen van het spoornet oplost door die tekeningen correct met elkaar te verbinden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaarbij ligt de nadruk op automatisering\u201d, zegt Kurt Decock. Maar de gebruikers bij Infrabel kunnen uiteraard alleen maar werken met de data die ze hebben. Ontbreekt een bepaalde asset volledig, dan moeten ze die alsnog handmatig kunnen toevoegen aan de tekening. Eenmaal dat is gebeurd en die data volledig op punt staan, hoeven ze er in principe niet meer naar om te kijken. \u201cEnerzijds willen wij onze tekenaars de tools aanreiken om zelf nog op een tekening in te grijpen, mocht dat echt nodig blijken. Anderzijds willen we onze collega\u2019s op de GIS-afdeling niet nog meer werk bezorgen dan ze al hebben. Dat was een belangrijke vereiste in dit project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mogelijk duiken er nog problemen op die moeilijker op te lossen zijn. Maar met behulp van FME heeft Nordend die uitzonderingen alvast tot een minimum weten te beperken. Zo kan Infrabel de interactie met de gebruikers echt zo miniem mogelijk houden, wat ook meer draagvlak voor de nieuwe tool cre\u00ebert. Daarna kunnen we onze blik verder in de toekomst richten.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De nieuwe topologie moet heel concreet bijdragen tot een betere planning van de werken aan het spoor. \u201cDie infrastructuurwerken plannen we vaak al enkele jaren vooraf in. Zo kunnen we tijdig het nodige budget en materiaal voorzien, niet enkel voor de werken aan het spoor zelf, maar ook voor die aan de bovenleidingen, de seininrichtingen, enzovoort. Momenteel maken alle betrokken partijen daarvoor gebruik van hun eigen plannen en data. Daarom streven wij naar een meer toekomstgerichte aanpak, waarin we al die stakeholders met hun plannen en data samenbrengen in \u00e9\u00e9n centraal communicatieplatform met \u00e9\u00e9n centrale bron van informatie. Met de nieuwe topologie hebben we alvast weer een stap in die richting
