FME CONSULTANT
Are you a dynamic, entrepreneurial FME Consultant? Building processes with (spatial) data, together with a customer gives you energy? We believe that personality and an eagerness to learn are more important than current knowledge and skills. So even starters can work at Nordend.
Nordend is a young company in the spatial (geographic) data market. We are a Bronze Partner of Safe Software, the developer of FME. This means that we offer FME services and training to our clients. Starting from the needs of the client, we look for the best way to realise a data migration from one model or format to another. So we build ETL workflows with FME. Our team brings together more than 40 years of FME experience, laying the foundation for your development.
In addition to FME, we also make eager use of PostGIS, QGIS and other Open Source platforms in order to achieve optimal processes together with our customers. We also work regularly in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry. With your knowledge of Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit, …) products you can get to work. In short, as an FME Consultant you are responsible for the integration of data and the implementation of solutions.
With us, the software serves the purpose. We are always looking for the best way to transform our customer’s challenge into an efficient process.
We are currently looking for our tenth employee with a command of either NL/ENG or FR/ENG. We would very much like to talk to you to clarify the vacancy.
Profile
- Experience and/or education in the area of spatial data
- FME knowledge is required
- Knowledge of Autodesk products is an asset (such as Autocad)
- Knowledge of Python scripting is recommended
- Experience with open source packages such as PostGIS, QGIS and GDAL

Nordend’s head office is located right next to De Hoek station in Sint-Genesius-Rode, 20 minutes from Brussels Midi. We have a second office in Gentbrugge at “De Punt bedrijvencentrum”.
Our clients are spread across the Benelux and Germany.
The final mix of home work, on-site at the client or at the office depends on you and the moment.
Required studies
- Master’s degree in Geography/Geology/Biology
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Bachelor of Computer Science
- Equivalent by experience
- Languages
French and/or Dutch: mother tongue
