Uniform map of Luxembourg
Nordend and Red Geographics jointly built a basic map for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on behalf of the Ministry of Economy (General Directorate for Tourism). Our approach?
- We compiled a basic map using data from the land registery, OpenStreetMap and other sources.
- We combined this information and stored it in a PostGIS database (with FME).
- We developed a legend for our collected data (in MAPublisher).
The result? A uniform map of Luxembourg with a buffer of 5 kilometres. Any of the five tourist offices asks for a map cut-out? Then we provide the requested walking and cycling maps. They also call on our basic map expertise for the roadside information boards.
